been decided — one way or the other. And what decided
it wasn't luck. It wasn't size or strength or tactical
training.
It was whether that person could see what was coming,
had a framework for what to do next, and had the
mindset to act on it.
Awareness closes the first gap.
Training closes the second.
Mindset is what makes both work when the pressure is real.
That's what Sentry Concepts was built to teach.
The Foundation of Everything We Teach
Most training programs start with skills. Ours starts with understanding.
Before you can respond effectively, you have to understand how dangerous situations actually develop — and that starts with human behavior.
Predators select targets. Situations escalate in predictable patterns. People telegraph their intentions long before they act. And most people miss every single sign — not because they're incapable, but because nobody ever taught them what to look for.
We teach that first because awareness without understanding is just nervousness. And training without a framework is just memorization.

The Founder
Chase Coughlin

Some people find their purpose. Chase found his early.
The drive was always the same: do something that matters. Serve. Protect. Make an impact on people who needed it most.
The police academy was where that drive found its home. From the moment he put on the badge it was clear this wasn't just a career — it was a calling. Not about power or authority. About people. That dedication, combined with a lifelong athletic and martial arts background, led to his first instructor role — defensive tactics. It didn't stop there. Over twelve years that role expanded across active shooter response, human behavior, home defense, firearms, concealed carry, corporate threat assessment, and leadership — reaching over a thousand professionals across law enforcement and civilian populations.
When his law enforcement career wound down, the question was never whether to keep teaching. It was who needed it most.
Real estate gave him the answer. As a licensed agent he immediately recognized the vulnerability — strangers, vacant properties, no training, no framework. He joined his regional association's safety committee, rose to Chairman, and was awarded Committee Member of the Year in 2024. The Safe Agent was built from that work.
Off the range, Chase is an avid powerlifter, ultra marathoner, and obstacle course racer with over twenty OCR events completed. He's active in his community in Hastings, running the annual Summerfest weightlifting program for teenagers and first-time competitors. He doesn't just teach people to be prepared. He lives it.
